I've had an amazing journey in life. It’s been a wonderful path...from my life as a martial
arts instructor and business owner, to leading my 16 piece swing orchestra, fronting as the vocalist. I'm a retired police
officer from my hometown, and now walk the path of healer, as a Reiki practitioner. I’ve witnessed miracles in my own
life, as well as the lives of my clients. The common thread that has been interwoven in all phases of my life, has been spiritual
practice. As a teenager, I started out in my martial arts training with a strong desire to understand the philosophy, history
and Way of the art. It has been a guiding force during the last 37 years of my life. As my body paid a price from the grueling
martial workouts and boxing sessions, I knew I needed to shift into a physical practice that would allow me to continue into
my later years...this was not an easy find, since it had to have a spiritual purpose, as well. I found this connection in
Yoga. Yoga means “union”...union of body, mind and spirit. And in those moments of union, we experience, peace...joy...a
loving heart. This is why I practice yoga. This is why I choose to teach yoga. To guide students on their journey, and be guided by the lessons that present themselves
from students. Yoga is not a religion...it is a physical practice that will make you strong in body, and a practice in breath
that will connect you to presence...mindfulness. This mindfulness can bring a deeper connection to your own spiritual beliefs.
So it is an honor for me to embark on this new
journey in my life...this opening of Healing Hands of Rhode Island. A place where transformation is possible and healing resides.
Namaste!

About my Training: It began a few years ago at my sister
Pam's yoga studio in Petaluma, CA., Renew Yoga. Truth be told, my second class at her place was with MC Yogi...He came
over and asked me where I teach. I laughed and told him it was my second class. He said to my sister, "he should be teaching".
Well Nicholas, I'm teaching. On my return to Rhode Island, I made my way to Synergy Power Yoga in Barrington, a Baptiste affiliate
studio owned by another sister, Alyssa Sullivan. (Yup, it's true, three yoga studios in one family!) This is where my foundation
in yoga practice was formed. I was well prepared when I began looking to explore other styles of yoga. I found my connection
with Coral Brown, an international teacher of Shiva Rea's Prana Flow Yoga who is based in Rhode Island. I love the style,
it's steeped in tradition with a contemporary flair. The pulsation of movement, set to the rhythms of traditional Indian music,
some with a contemporary edge, adds to the flow of the class. It's awesome! But more importantly, it is Coral's joyful
and knowledgable teaching that has inspired me. I completed the Prana Flow 200 hour teacher training under Coral's guidance
and so a new adventure in my life begins. I invite you to come to Healing Hands of Rhode Island and join me on the journey.
The rest is still to be written! "Wellness within your reach."
